Model Calls

Something a little special and unscripted.

To grow as an artist I occasionally seek out dog models for specific projects or concepts. Model sessions are a little different than portrait sessions: they may involve trying new ideas, working with particular light or landscapes, or refining a new skill. They might result in one or two special images or a gallery.

If you love exploring with your dog and are open to something a little different, I’d love to hear from you. In return, you’ll receive select edited images as a thank-you — and a chance to be part of something creative.

🚀 Action Superstars

Location: Strathcona Park, Vancouver
When: Flexible weekday evenings
Duration: ~30 minutes

I’m looking for a dog who loves chasing balls or frisbees to help me practice capturing action shots in a local park! Think mid-air leaps, power runs, epic catches. This is a casual and fun session meant to build my skills (and possibly add to my portfolio).

What You’ll Get:
– 3 edited digital images of your dog in action

What I’m Looking For:
– A ball/frisbee-loving dog
– You must be willing to sign a model release
– Please bring your dog's favourite ball or disc

This session will be short and energetic - we'll keep it fun and low-key to avoid tiring your pup out. Open to more than one model for this project! If your dog would love a run in the park and you'd love some photos get in touch!

🌲Old Lands, New Eyes

Location: varied
When: Flexible
Duration: ~2 hours, early morning or evening
When: Flexible, but likely weekends, scheduled based on light and weather

I’m looking for rescue Jindos (or Jindo mixes) and their humans to be part of a meaningful personal photography project called Old Lands, New Eyes. This series will explore the resilience, presence, and beauty of Jindos against the backdrop of ancient forests, coastlines, and mountains.

This project is close to my heart—a way to honour the spirit of these unique dogs and the new lives they’re building far from where they began.

What You’ll Get:
– A small selection of edited digital images (5–7)
– A print-ready file of the final chosen image
– My heartfelt thanks for being part of this story

What I’m Looking For:
– Rescue Jindos (or jindo-ish mixes) who are comfortable in natural settings
– Dogs who are confident in different locations (or have a solid stay and recall if off-leash is appropriate)
– Willingness to sign a model release and travel to a mutually agreed upon location

These sessions will be unhurried, quiet, and grounded in respect for your dog’s comfort. If you have a Jindo who has found a new beginning in BC—and would like to be part of a series that celebrates that journey—please reach out with a photo and a few lines about them.

What I’m Looking For:
– A dog who will be comfortable exploring the  park and seawall including if there are lots of people/noises, and if we shoot until dusk/nightfall

✨ Pups Under the Stars

Location: Within 1–3 hours of Vancouver
When: TBD based on weather and clear skies— but likely a weekend night
Duration: ~2 hours, starting around sunset and going into nightfall

I’m looking for calm, photogenic dogs to be part of a truly special shoot—under the stars. This session is for a personal creative project focused on capturing the quiet magic of dogs in nature at night, with star-filled skies.

What You’ll Get:
– one or more very special edited images of your dog at night, including a print-ready file of the final shot
- since this is a bigger commitment I'm willing to also do a daytime portrait shoot with 10 photos in exchange for the evening shoot

What I’m Looking For:
– A black or white spitz-type dog who is comfortable staying out past dark (willing to consider other black or white dogs)
- Able to focus and remain still for several seconds (harder than it sounds!)
– Must be able to travel to a darker-sky location (Sea-to-Sky, Manning Park, or similar)
– You must be willing to sign a model release

Because this project is weather-dependent and requires travel, I’m looking for someone flexible, patient, and excited to help create something magical. If you’ve got a dog who thrives in quiet moments and stargazing vibes, send me a message with a photo and a few lines about them!

What You’ll Get:
– a gallery of 15 edited digital images of your dog having the time of their life in and around the water

What I’m Looking For:
– A dog who enjoys getting wet and playing in and around the river
